He married Georgia Bailey in 1991 and they enjoyed travel and spending time in the mountains. They were regulars at the Hen House and Millstop before Georgia’s death in 2013.

Don was an avid tennis player and golfer, and enjoyed fly fishing and skiing. He loved the Denver Broncos and CU Buffaloes, and tolerated the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Don was a devout Christian and enjoyed his buddies in Bible study and meeting friends for coffee.

He is survived by daughters: Nancy (Paul) Hammel, Janet (Brian) Kanne; Georgia’s children: Cherryl Babbitt and family, Craig (Deeon) Bailey; grandchildren: Tyler and Elliot Kanne and Jennie Hammel; special niece, Jill Bladh; and other nieces and nephews.

  2. Don will be truly missed by family and friends. Our prayers for peace and comfort go out to all.

  3. Don, I shall miss our weekly visits at the Hen House. They were a treasure that I looked forward to, your appearance never failed to bring a smile to my face and joy to my heart. If the the creek dont rise and the good Lord is willing we will meet again.

  4. May special memories help to comfort you at this time. Our prayers are with the family.

  5. Dear Family, I missed seeing Don since his move to CO. Sprgs. Georgia’s Bible study group continued until October 2018 when we lost several to moving and death. Many thanks to God for Don and Georgia their guidance, friendship and love. May you have many beautiful memories.

  6. Don, you weren’t only a loving, devoted husband to Mom – you were someone we were proud to introduce as our Dad. We always enjoyed the many times the four of us traveled together to Palm Springs etc, the many times the two of you would come visit us in Phoenix and the time you came to see our new home in Santa Clarita, CA.

I’ve often said, “I’d never seen Mom happier than after she married you”. The two of you were probably the closest to a “perfect marriage” as I’ve ever seen. It’s no wonder the saying you shared is one that holds dear to my heart – “Still do – always will”.

Today we remember Don died –
    Forever we’ll remember Don LIVED!!!

    We love you,
    Craig & Deeon
