Goldie Yvonne Chisman

Goldie “Yvonne” Chisman, age 87, a longtime resident of Ellicott, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Brookdale Senior Living in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Yvonne was born on March 10, 1931 to Robert and Goldie (Alexander) Lippard in Clovis, New Mexico. At an early age she moved to Colorado with her mom, Goldie, and stepfather, Harry Frazier. She later met and married her husband, Gene Chisman, on July 20, 1950, who preceded her in death in 2016. They moved to Ellicott in 1957 where they helped with and later purchased Gene’s parents’ business, which allowed them many years of operation until the closing of the family business.

Yvonne spent many years in Ladies Club, where she enjoyed making food dishes and gathering with her friends, along with being involved with various church groups, church functions and prayer groups. She also loved reading, playing cards, bingo, listening to music and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. Most of all she loved her family and cherished the many people she called friends.

She is survived by her children: Marna (David) Booker, Kevin Chisman, and Mark (Jackie) Chisman; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Chisman; step-brother, Harry “Garky” Frazier Jr.; and son, Rodney Chisman.

A Celebration of Life will be held sometime in the spring. In lieu of flowers please consider making donations on her behalf to your local churches, a charity of your choice, or to Farmers State Bank in support of the community Flag Pole Monument in honor of Gene Chisman.

The Chisman family would like to extend appreciation to all family and friends who have shared their time and love with Yvonne. She may have been tiny in stature, but she will be forever remembered for her enormous caring nature and huge heart.
