April 26, 1965 – February 29, 2020

Lloyd C. Apricio passed away at his home in Black Forest, Colorado on February 29, 2020.  He was a lifelong resident of the Colorado Springs area.

Lloyd was born on April 26, 1965 to Casey Apricio and Susan (Aragon) Martinez in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He graduated from Coronado High School.  He married the love of his life, Rosemary Thiele, in May of 1993 in Colorado Springs.

After graduating from high school Lloyd worked in a cabinet shop where he honed his woodworking skills.  He continued woodworking as a hobby throughout his life creating custom made furniture for family and friends.  In 1986 he began his career in the security industry, starting out as a technician and moving into sales in 1998.  He was a Sales District Manager for Bosch Security Systems at the time of his death.  Lloyd had many other hobbies throughout the years, but his favorites were softball and mountain bike riding.  He was blessed with incredible mechanical and technical aptitude and could fix or create pretty much anything.  He also loved watching the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies.

Lloyd was a loving father who strived to give his daughters many opportunities.  He had a determined personality and taught his daughters to be strong.  He fought his disease with the same determination he showed for everything else in life.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie Apricio; his daughters, Haley and Kaiya Apricio; his mother, Sue Martinez; his stepfather, Ed Martinez, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.  He was preceded in death by his father, Casey Apricio.

This Obituary Has 53 Condolences

  1. I’ve been honored to work with Lloyd over his tenure with Bosch. I remember the pictures he shared of his biking adventures (and the occasional scrape here and there). Lloyd loved life, his family and friends! There are many lives he touched, mine most certainly. There is hope in the cross and God’s promise that we will see Lloyd again, this is our only consolation. I will be praying for the family as you walk through this season. May the peace of the Holy Spirit be with you.

    1. Thank you so much Dan for your kind words. You are right, the consolation is that we will see him again some day. Until then we will miss him and continue to love him.

  13. Lloyd, sometimes life gives us something that we simply cannot find the words for.
All we can do is remember that God has a plan.
Somehow we are all a part of that plan and for that reason, I am glad that you played a role in it as well.
Thank you for the kind words you shared with me, those many years ago.
I smile at the memories, and for the laughter we shared from time to time.
Maybe these things require no words at all, and we are just meant to feel the bonds between us instead of searching for those words.
    You will be missed sir.
May Heaven be as beautiful as we imagined, and may you go there knowing that you were an important part of the plan.
    Godspeed

I am so sorry to hear about Lloyd, I just found out tonight.
I was a classmate of his back at Coronado and have since moved on too many other parts of the county and unfortunately lost track of old friends.
By the kind words of his obituary I know we would have remained close friends given the opportunity.
I remember his old Black and Red ford pickup well ?.
I too am a dad of daughters (5) and my heart breaks for their loss.
May God continue to give you strength and blessings on your family.
