William “Ray” Wilson
April 14, 1940 – December 25, 2016
William “Ray” Wilson, age 76, passed away on December 25, 2016. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for twelve years. He was a retired chemistry teacher and was fond of singing as a tenor.
William was born on April 14, 1940 to Virginia Lee (Brown) and Glen H. Wilson in Antigo, Wisconsin. In White Lake, Wisconsin on August 19, 1961 he married Alice Wirz.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Alice; siblings: Wayne Wilson, Yvonne Carpenter, James Wilson, Gerald Wilson, Timothy Wilson, Pamela Keith, and Teddy Wilson. William was preceded in death by his sisters; Gayle Wilson, and Audrey Royce, and brother; DeLou Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Radiant Church, 4020 Maizeland Rd., Colorado Springs, CO with a reception to immediately follow.

So sorry about Ray’s death.
I had always wanted to tell him that he was such a fantastic teacher, and team mate.
Tried locating where you were at, but to no avail. Today I found it on images of Ray.
The proof was in the pudding. The first year after he retired, I took over the chem 2 classes.
I was embarrassed that my chem 1 students were so weak compared to Ray’s.
Somehow the students perception was that I easier. (probably so). First year I had two classes with 28 students, the next year one class of 25 students. After that, 15 students a year. I taught chem 2 as an optional AP class. For those taking the AP I gave them the worksheets that Ray designed for chem 2. If the students had faithfully done those on their own, They would’ve gotten top scores. I was shown the test they were given, and the problems were just like those on his worksheets.
I really missed you guys, remembered the Tennessee visit.
