Zenaida M. Branson, age 76, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, born May 18, 1943 in Binan, Laguna, the Philippines, passed away Tuesday evening, February 11, 2020 at Penrose Hospital, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

   Zeny had been a resident of Colorado Springs since 1981 when her family was assigned to Peterson Air Force Base. She was a loving mother to her three children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and loved cooking for her family, friends, and her children’s friends. She was a wonderful and caring sister, loyal to her longtime friends, and generous to everyone she knew.

   Zeny worked in various jobs always proving she was a hard and conscientious worker and liked by her peers wherever she was employed. She worked at Memorial Hospital in various capacities and retired from Penrose Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was an independent and strong-minded lady who did things her way and never asked for help, though needed.

   She enjoyed shopping, getting together with friends, cooking, Filipino food, politics, and traveling when she could. She loved jewelry and was an avid follower of current events.

   Zeny is loved and will truly be missed by family and friends near and far. She is survived by her loving son, James Branson and his wife Danita; her son Patrick Branson; her daughter Kimberly Branson and her husband William Woodley; her sister Yolanda Hoversten; her niece Veronica and her husband Paul Washburn; her grandchildren Anthony Branson, Kayla Branson, Shyanne Branson, Anighya Branson, Trevor Branson, Tyshawn Branson, Jamie Soto, and Amara Dozier.

   A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Inurnment immediately follows at the Evergreen Cemetery.
