Annie Frances Temple was born on October 10, 1924 in Jetmore, Kansas, to Anna Frances Cavitt and Arthur Armstrong Temple. She passed away at Memorial Hospital on May 12, 2017.

Frances was preceded in death by brothers: Tom, John and Charles; and sisters: Opal, Grace, and Pearl; as well as nieces: Mary and Judy; and nephews: Tom, Bobby, and Jerry. She is survived by nephews: Oren, Bill, John and James; and nieces: Beth, Janet Sue, Betty Ann, Shari and Connie.

Frances attended Oklahoma Baptist School of Nursing, where she received her RN degree. She nursed at various locations, coming to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1955; becoming Memorial Hospital Nursing Supervisor before retiring in 1988. Beth El School of Nursing awarded their first Honorary Bachelors Degree of Nursing to her. She also served on the Colorado Nurses Association in various positions.

Loving horses, years ago she volunteered as the nurse at the horse races south of Colorado Springs. She also loved shrimp, fried pickles, mashed potatoes, chocolate, and her tradition of making peanut brittle with her nieces and nephews every Christmas. She enjoyed traveling, photography, and was a devout bowler on a bowling team.

Frances was a talented oil painter, and was crafty. As her eyes failed she focused more on crafts where she could “feel” her projects.

Annie Frances Temple: quite a character, independent, strong willed, spoke her mind without apology, and sported a dry sense of humor. Down deep she was a loving, caring daughter, sister, aunt, friend, RN, and Medalion family member.

There will be a viewing at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, immediately followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at The Medalion Retirement Community, 1719 East Bijou Street.
