Art “Gunner” Theysohn
Art “Gunner” Theysohn, age 72, a resident of Colorado Springs since 2009 and formerly of Normandy, Tennessee, New Orleans, Louisiana, and upstate New York, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Emeritus Memory Care Center in Colorado Springs. He had retired after serving his country for over 39 years in the United States Marine Corps as an Intelligence Officer.
Arthur Charles Theysohn was born on September 14, 1939 in New York New York to the late Arthur K. and Louise (Brenthel) Theysohn. He was a 1957 graduate of All Hallows High School and attended NYC University. He married Marion Jean Buszko on September 20, 1969 in the Bronx, New York.
Mr. Theysohn enjoyed fishing, hunting, ATVs and was an avid New York Giants football fan. He was instrumental in the development of the Marine Corps League in Tennessee and was a volunteer with the Fire Department in Normandy.
He is survived by his loving wife: Marion of Colorado Springs; his son: Artie; daughter-in-law: Karen; his grandson: Nikolas of Monument, Colorado; his sister: Marie McAfee of Wellington, Florida; and two nephews: Jimmy and William McAfee of Wellington.
Memorial Services with Marine Corps Honors will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, the Marine Corps League or to Toys for Tots.
Art will be best remembered for his loyalty to the Marine Corps, his family, and to God. Blessed be his memory.
