Betty J. Richey
Betty J. Richey, age 85, passed away on April 10, 2014. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for the past five years and was formerly a 40 year resident of Lakewood, Colorado. She was a beloved wife and mother who worked both as a homemaker and restaurant waitress. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, travel and especially time spent with her family.
Betty was born on March 30, 1929, to George and Marie (Bernhardt) Reichert in Brush, Colorado. On June 6, 1955 she married James K. Richey in Denver.
She attended Morgan County schools and graduated from Ft. Morgan High School in 1947.
She is survived by her three sons: Thomas K. Richey, Todd A. Richey and John S. Richey; her brother: Edwin Reichert (wife, Esther); her grandchildren: Nicholas Richey, Michelle (Richey) Fisher, Danielle (Richey) Gross, Kendra Richey, James Richey, Christopher Richey; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; her grandson, Robert; and 3 siblings.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver. Interment will also be at Ft. Logan.
