Carla Jane Hines, age 82, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026.
Jane was born on January 10, 1944, in La Junta, Colorado, to Garold and Beulah (Petry) Spicer. At the age of four, she moved with her family to Colorado Springs, where she grew up and graduated from Wasson High School in 1962. On November 27, 1968, she married her beloved husband, Jim, in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
A wonderfully creative spirit, Jane found joy in square dancing, sewing, quilting, and countless other crafts. She loved camping, cruising, playing cards, bowling, and trying her luck at slot machines. Above all else, she cherished her family, who were the true center of her life.
Jane is survived by her loving husband, Jim; her children, Ken (Dee) Buck, Gary (Laurie) Buck, and Tara (Greg) Mahoney; siblings, Bev (Ed) Murray and Russ (Emily) Spicer; grandchildren, Daniel, Chelsea, Gary, Jessica, Kendra, Ryan, Nathan, Addison, and Kaden; and nine cherished great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO. Family and friends are invited to gather at 9:00 a.m. to share memories, with the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
