Carol Irene Lown Sims
Carol Irene Lown Sims, age 69, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was a loving wife and mother who worked in the electronic and gaming industry.
Carol was born April 16, 1943 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Burt and Katherine Lown. In her spare time, Carol enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved trips to Cripple Creek and sewing. Carol was a “tough gal” who fought her illness with grace to the very end.
She is survived by her husband, Norman Ted Sims; daughters: Lisa (Steve) Martinez; Dawn (Elden) Kanzler; Traci (Christopher) King; and her stepsons: Jeff, Jody, and Kevin Sims. She is also survived by her sisters: Judy (Bill) Brewer, Margaret Benoit; Katherine (John) Paradine; Janet Lindsey; Nancy (Tom) Bolling; her brothers: Tom (Cindy) Lown; Rick (Ann) Lown; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Lown.
Catholic Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. A reception will follow at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard.
She will be dearly missed.
