Cheri Applegate
Cheri Diane Applegate died at a local hospital on Wednesday, April 9, 2014.
Cheri was born on September 27, 1953 in Herington, Kansas to Patty L. and Robert E. Jacobs. Her father, Robert, was in the United States Air Force and during her childhood years the family lived in various states in the U.S., as well as three overseas locations. The family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in the late 1960s and Cheri graduated from Mitchell High School in 1971.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved gardening, camping, thrift shops, and being a homemaker. She also enjoyed all of the puppies that she had throughout her life.
Cheri is survived by her husband, Mark Applegate; her daughter, Savannah Applegate; her stepson, Dustin Applegate; her stepdaughter, Chelsea Applegate; her mother, Patty Harbour; her brother, Jay Jacobs; her sister, Amy McCallum; her nieces: Brandy Roboin, Amber Roybal, and Ashley Jones; six great-nieces; two great-nephews; four cousins; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert; her brother, Dana Jacobs; her sister, Robbyn Kinney; and her son, Glen Jacobs.
She will be missed dearly by all and loved and remembered forever.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Cheri’s name may be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbot Lane, Colorado Springs, CO 80905.
