Daniel Robert Meo – February 26, 2026

Daniel Robert Meo, beloved father, brother, and friend passed away on February 26th, 2026, at the age of 69. He was resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado for the last 13 years and was formerly a resident of San Diego, California. He worked in sales and customer service.

Born on November 13th, 1956, to Ignazio Mateo Meo and Anita Ann (Parnelli) Meo in Miami, Florida. He served in the United States Navy, for 13 years, and through that service he developed a deep appreciation for Asian culture. He filled his home with the trinkets he collected throughout his life and travels – delicate figurines, intricate artwork, and the little nick-nacks that brought him joy. He was also a passionate collector of stamps, coins, and sports cards and memorabilia, finding meaning in the stories each piece carried.

He was known for his warm heart and the small, thoughtful gifts he loved to give to the people in his life. Little tokens that made people feel seen, appreciated, and cared for. His kindness extended to every living creature, especially his three “Grand dogs” that he loved and spoiled as often as he could.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Bennett; his brother, Michael Meo; and his cousin, Joseph Musacchio, who will forever cherish his kindness and the love he gave so freely. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ignazio Mateo Meo and Anita Ann (Parnelli) Meo.

A celebration of his life will be held on March 15th at 2pm, at Tamarac Apartments, 750 E Cheyenne Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80905.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you honor him by donating to Denver Dachshunds Rescue and Transport at https://ddrt.org/. This organization is where two of Daniel’s beloved “Grand dogs” were adopted from.

Even before you went home I worried and dreamed about you. It just goes to show that one should make an effort to contact that person, because you don’t know what circumstances could change. Dan was a very loving father, brother and son. He loved his family. Those are some of the things I remember. He loved his service in the military – the kind of person you’d want to have your back.

You will be dearly missed. Bravo Zulu
