
Danny Edward Raymond, 85 years, passed away on October 1, 2024, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Danny was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado since 1953. Formerly a resident of Aurora, Illinois, his birthplace. Danny was born on October 11, 1938, to Clyde Kennedy Raymond and Margaret (Blanchard) Raymond in Aurora, Illinois.
On May 4, 1993, Danny married Sandra L. (formerly, Fickes) Rollins in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Danny had two other previous marriages with children before marrying Sandra Raymond.
Danny loved horses, dogs, cats, and all animals and nature. He loved music, playing the guitar, keyboard, harmonica, singing and dancing. As well as the beautiful outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting and firearms. Danny also loved to shop, loved food, cooking, designing and decorating, not to mention John Wayne, western movies and shows also law enforcement movies and shows. Walker, Texas Ranger, In the Heat of the Night, and Blue Bloods were among some of his favorite shows. He loved being a mentor and his law enforcement positions.
Danny enlisted In the United States Army in 1955 and honorably retired at Fort Carson, Colorado in 1976. Danny held many duty positions during his career. Ranger, infantry, drill sergeant, and served three assignments in the Vietnam War.
After retiring from the United States Army, Danny held many different positions with law enforcement, security, merchant police, deputy sheriff, Marshall of Green Mountain Falls and Alert security patrol guards. Other employments were with Dunkin Donuts, Security Florist and King Soopers. Danny and his wife also had a karaoke business for fifteen years called StarDust Productions.
Danny is survived by his loving wife, Sandra “Sandy” Raymond; his stepdaughter, Kimberly and her husband, David Lagge; his late son, Terrence and his surviving daughter in law, Tereasa of Maine; daughter, Tammy and her husband, Murali Ranganathan of Florida; his son, Danny Raymond, Jr. and four stepsiblings. Additionally, he’s survived by his granddaughter, Kristina Dryer of Maine; grandson, Michael and his wife, Meghan of Woodward, Virginia; granddaughters, Hannah and Teigan Lagge, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; great grandchildren, Jensen and Ripley Raymond of Woodward, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jeannette Tanser and Linda Norvick; and brother, Clyde Raymond.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Inurnment following the service will be held at 12:00PM at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925. Services will conclude with a 1:00PM luncheon reception at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
Memorials in Danny’s memory may be made to the American Legion Post 38, the VFW, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the Humane Society and any other such organizations, the Nature Conservancy, or the Help Elephants Fund.
Danny was a loving and caring husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa. He had several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Danny will be missed by all and will always love you!
