Darcy Bennett, age 42, passed away, surrounded by loved ones, on the evening of May 5th, 2025. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 27 years, having previously lived in Gainesville and Kissimmee, Florida. A dedicated and hard worker throughout her life, Darcy later embraced her role as a homemaker, caring deeply for her husband and daughter.
Darcy was born on March 13th, 1983, to Patrick Bennett and Tia Nordstrand. She met her doting husband, Joseph Toussaint, in 2004, and they shared 21 loving years of marriage until her passing.
Darcy had a passion for drawing and creating art, always thinking of another project to begin. She also enjoyed spending time with her loved ones playing in nature, fishing with the family, and had a deep appreciation for the natural world and music in all forms. She attended Roy J. Wasson High School, graduating in 2001, and later pursued studies in massage therapy at Pikes Peak State College.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph; her cherished daughter, Annika; her parents, Patrick and Theresa; her brother, Ian; her sister-in-law, Julianna; and her nieces and nephews: Osiris, Isis, Avery, Ivy, and Dante. She was preceded in death by her mother, Tia, and grandmother, Patricia.
Finally, a quote from one of her favorite movies, which represents Darcy best; “But he liked to leave me laughing. This is how he wanted to remember me, and how he wanted to be remembered.” -Big Fish, 2003
