Darlene May Peetz went to her Heavenly Father on May 15, 2012. She was born on May 15, 1930 to Jake and Mollie Engleman in Gering, Nebraska.
Darlene is survived by her husband: Howard; sons: Michael and William “Bill”; sisters: Lois Finke of Ft. Collins, Colorado; and Betty Zook of Boulder, Colorado; grandchildren: Sam, Austin, and Tyler; and great-grandson: Brandon.
Darlene was preceded in death by her father: Jake; mother Mollie; her daughter: Jodie and sisters: Mildred Lipsack and Dorthy Heinz.
She was a real estate broker in Colorado Springs for 25 years. She was a devoted wife and mother and she loved gardening and cooking. She married Howard 62 years ago in Anchorage, Alaska on September 15, 1950.
Darlene will be deeply missed by her loving husband, her family and her many friends.
Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5354 South Highway 85, Security, Colorado. Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2012, at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Avenue. A luncheon reception will follow the graveside service back at St. Dominic’s Church.
