David V. Vap

David V. Vap, age 87, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Cheyenne Mountain Care Center. He was a resident of Colorado Springs since 1959.

David Vernon Vap was born on March 18, 1924 in Deweese, Nebraska to Enos and Frances (Hlavac) Vap. He served his country in the Navy from July 25, 1942 to January 12, 1946. David married Loretta J. Jorn on October 7, 1948. He began working for the United States Civil Service on October 10, 1950 at the Hastings Naval Ammunition Depot and retired from the Air Force Academy on May 5, 1984.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; a son, James; and a grandson, Christopher Clark.

David’s family would like to thank the staff of Cheyenne Mountain Care Center for the loving care he received from the compassionate CNA’s, nurses, therapists and support staff.
