Derrick “Cacheton” Joseph Leon passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Colorado Springs on October 29th, 2021.
He was born in Torrance, California on October 8th, 1991. He was the third-born child of two loving parents, Jose and Margarita Leon. He is survived by his mother, father, brothers, sister, and numerous others.
At the age of 17, Derrick came across the famous Talking Babies commercial. He immediately grew a passion for the stock market and opened an account with E*TRADE. Derrick dove in headfirst and began to trade penny stocks. In the following years, he met a mentor named Nathan Michaud who is the owner of Investors Underground and began to trade by shorting and longing stocks. He challenged himself and studied the experienced traders to build upon his knowledge and expertise. In 2014, he exceeded all expectations and profited $700,000 at only 23 years old. Being one of the youngest successful participants in the trading community earned him plenty of attention and admiration.
Investors Underground aired an interview about his trading history and education on YouTube. With his humble disposition, he later became a moderator and mentor for the entire community. Many of the incoming traders looked up to him as a legendary role model. The entire trading community was shocked when they heard of his passing. They honored him on twitter and paid their respects with beautiful words. Derrick was also a natural-born entrepreneur at heart. He recently opened Colorado Paint Professionals LLC before he became ill. Derrick always worked extremely hard for his financial freedom, satisfaction, and quality of life. He wanted to ensure that his family was always taken care of.
In his recent years, Derrick was devoted to bringing joy and happiness to his friends and family. Our parents always instilled in us to give to those in need and Derrick lived up to that value. With his compassionate nature, he selflessly helped others without expecting anything in return. Derrick was incredibly altruistic, respectful, and generous with a heart of gold. He was a deep thinker with a kind and pure soul. Derrick was very passionate about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and assisted others with workouts, diets, and supplements. His hobbies were snowboarding, hiking, playing video games, eating, sleeping, and farting. He could outeat any person in the world. Derrick left a positive impression on many with his hysterical laugh, sense of humor, and goofy personality. He could never keep a straight face while taking pictures.
We will miss his big bear hugs, sarcasm, smile, voice, and silly faces. But this isn’t goodbye, it’s simply see you later. Now it’s his turn to watch over us. Heaven gained the most beautiful angel. I hope you’re dancing in the sky!
Until we meet again Derrick Leon!

I knew Derrick briefly in High School. He was always kind and very friendly. He lives on in the hearts and memories of the lives he touched.
My heart and prayers go out to the Leon Family.
Derrick was one of the best friends I have ever had. He actually, literally saved my life once and I will love him as brother always and forever. People like him make the world a better place and I honor him by trying to be that kind of person.
I first met Derrick at a sales party for a network marketing event at my house. I found he traded stocks and told him I wanted to learn. I showed up to the apartment lobby at 6am and he was shocked I showed up. We were best friends ever since. When I met him he was still in the early stages of his rise. He had the confidence of a wolf and stubbornness of a bull. He knew what he wanted. He always told me, “ Do you want to be the 1% or do you want to be like everyone else”?. His words made me question his sanity and myself. Was this possible for some 20 yr old to do? Then he did it. He was a man of ACTION. The next following months he made 700k and became famous in the trading world. He did the unthinkable. He became a legend. Featured in books and articles. He proved everyone wrong. In the end he was on the verge of creating multiple businesses that would have helped many of people. He gave his best to friends and family and his confidence leaves an impact on me and everyone around him. We used to joke about his business is like the tv series game of thrones. You either win the crown or you die. Before Derrick passed, he finally won the crown
