Doreen Grace Weber, 87 years, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 53 years.

   Doreen was born on January 27, 1934 to Francis (Frank) Wachsmuth and Grace (Dawson) Wachsmuth in Portland, Oregon. On December 26, 1953 she married Alban Leo Weber in Portland, Oregon.

   She graduated from St. Rose grade school in 1947 and Holy Child Academy in 1951. Doreen was gifted with a beautiful soprano voice and attended the University of Portland with a music scholarship. Doreen met Al Weber at the University of Portland, and they married after a two- year courtship. Doreen travelled extensively with Al and their growing family for 25 years in the USAF with assignments in Washington, Oregon, France and Colorado.

   She lived a fulfilling life as a wife and mother of seven children, Michael (Peggy), Deborah (Kit Hamby), Lisa (Chuck Delich), Patrick (Tammy), Katherine (Doug Hill), Julie (Chris Maniscalchi, d. 2019), and Carrie (John Manney). She was also grandmother to 16 grandchildren, Jessica, Philip, Amber, Ashley, Brandon, Jenny, Kyle, Courtney, Erica, Lauren, Becca, Andrew, Luke, Alyssa, Greg and Kelly, and had eight great grandchildren, Madeline, Zach, Charlie, Olivia, Sydney, Cooper, Eli, and Wyatt.

   Doreen loved her children, the Catholic church, birds, flowers, angels, and her husband of 67 years. She was loved by many, known for her strength of convictions and giving personality, as well as her endless energy she put into whatever she set forth to do.

   A funeral is scheduled for Thursday, February 4, 2021, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. A rosary will precede the funeral mass at 10:00 a.m., also at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 55 Jefferson St., Monument, Colorado. Interment will follow at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. The service will be livestreamed through petertherock.org

   Donations may be made in the name of Doreen Weber to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
