Dorothy Blanche Gulley
October 22, 1924 to May 9, 2013

Mrs. Dorothy Blanche Gulley, age 88, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on May 9, 2013. Sunrise Senior Living and Evercare Hospice provided great comfort in her care.

She was born October 22, 1924 in Upshur County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Dorsey B. and Cecelia L. George. Her husband, Donald Eugene Gulley, preceded her in death on December 27, 1992.

She is survived by thirteen children, Mike (Patti) Gulley, Donald (Sue) Gulley II, Timothy (Bonnie) Gulley, Cecelia (Glenn) Springfield, Randy (Patty) Gulley, Beth (Larry) Jaramillo, Paul (Barbara) Gulley, Sue (Chris) Schroeder, Barbara (Dave) Schofield, Bekki Alyea, Kay (Bob) Woods, Nancy (Joel) Techau, and Linda (Chuck) Williams. She is also survived by one sister, Lorene Bailey (Richard), one brother, Dr. Ronald George (Joan). She had an abundance of love for not only her children, but her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. They were her joy! Two sisters, Ileana Mazzi and Nita Jarvis preceded her in death.

Dorothy devoted her life to her husband and family. She worked along side her husband in all his business endeavors. Dorothy also had an exceptional gift of hospitality and served all with a genuine heart. She enjoyed many activities, including all sports, cheerleading, band, being a drum major and majorette, many scholastic activities, and interacting in school, church and community. As her children married, she loved her children’s spouses and their families. Dorothy loved scrapbooking and she loved the holidays, including decorating, baking and cooking. She loved to dance and we bet you can find her on Heaven’s dance floor!

Services will be held May 23, 2013 at 10:00am at the Callahan-Edfast Chapel, 2515 Patterson Road, Grand Junction, Colorado 81505 followed by interment at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery, Veterans Section, Grand Junction, Colorado.
