Dorothy (Price) Walsh, widow of William J. Walsh, Jr., passed away on February 8, 2016. She was born in 1923 in Owensville, Missouri to Arthur and Martha LaVonia (Tomnitz) Price who preceded her in death.
Dorothy was a homemaker. She received Bachelor and Master degrees at the University of Missouri, Columbia, and taught at public schools and universities in Missouri, Iowa, Colorado and Michigan. She served in the Medical Department of the Women’s Army Corps during World War II.
Dorothy is survived by three children: William J. Walsh III, of San Diego, California, Stephen J. Walsh of Woodland Park, Colorado and Martha Walsh Dolan of Caledonia, Michigan; six grandchildren: Eva Marie Walsh, John William Walsh, Nicole Marie Smith, Michael Christopher Dolan, Robert Francis Dolan and James Patrick Dolan. She is also survived by one great grandchild, Ashlyn Marie Dullard. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Clarence A. and Gene T. Price of Owensville, Missouri and Calvin M. Price of Jefferson City, Missouri; sisters: Thelma A. Adcock of Owensville, Missouri, May McMahon of Massena, New York, Verna O. Curtis of Garden Grove, California and Etolia E. Hoppe of Washington, Missouri.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a church or charity of your choice.
