E. Roverta Pitts

E. Roverta Pitts, 94, born to Eunice and Ewell M. Scott in Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Brookdale Bear Creek Memory Care on June 29, 2017. She was a 47-year resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was a retired secretary whose career included time spent as secretary to the principal of Palmer High School. Among her many interests were a love of animals, painting and playing piano.

She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Colonel Morris B. Pitts (Retired). She was a devoted military wife, mother and grandmother to children: Pamela R. Brown (Jerry), Patricia A. Marx (Joel) and Mark B. Pitts; grandchildren: Scott M. Brown, Karen A. Brown, Sarah Kelly (Donovan) and Rachel Hungerford (Joel). She is also survived by great-grandson, Daegan Kelly. She was preceded in death by her brother, E. M. Scott, Jr.

Entombment at Shrine of Remembrance was private. Charitable donations may be made to a favorite animal related charity or the Alzheimer’s Association.
