Eden was born March 7, 1949, to Billie Ruth Hayse and Marshall Paul Whited in Clinton, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Vickie Ellen Whited. He is survived by his sons, Eden Whited II and Christopher (Deanna) Whited; his grandchildren: Damian (Evangeline) Whited, Mason (Victoria) Whited, Emma Whited, and Brett (Hannah) Whited; and his great granddaughter Zoe Whited.
After graduating High School, Eden signed up with the Army in 1968 as a helicopter pilot until 1972 when he entered the inactive reserves. He served in Vietnam from 1969-1970. In 1979, he entered the Air Force and served until 1991. He has lived in the Philippines, England, Germany, Iran and the US. He traveled extensively with his first wife, Susan, and children. Eden was always active in outdoors hunting and fishing, and he loved spending time with his group of friends.
