Edward Clark Lawrence, 77, passed from this life on November 18, 2025, while at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Ed was born on June 23, 1948, in Mayfield, Kentucky, and grew up in Colorado Springs. He began his education at York Junior College in Nebraska, earning an A.A. degree in Art History in 1968. He continued his studies at Oklahoma Christian College, where he received a B.A. in Art History in 1971 and a B.S. in Accounting in 1978. Ed later returned to Colorado and spent 20 years working as an accountant for Colorado Interstate Gas, where he was respected for his steady character and dependable work ethic.
A man of deep and abiding faith, Ed worshipped at the Pikes Peak Church of Christ, where he faithfully attended for many years. He enjoyed reading, watching movies, and playing games with family and friends.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Janet; his daughter, Erin Madrigal, and her husband, Leonel; and his grandchildren, Emmanuel and Cierra Madrigal, and Cherish and Malachi Twining, each of whom brought him great pride and joy.
He is preceded in death by his son, Logan; as well as his parents, Robert and Marjorie Lawrence.
Those who knew Ed will remember his easygoing nature, his steady presence, and the quiet kindness he showed to others. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.
In accordance with his wishes, Ed’s ashes will be spread in the mountains alongside his son Logan’s, allowing them to rest together in a place of beauty and peace. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
Ed had a tender heart for children in need and valued giving to organizations that reflected his compassion. He faithfully supported Manuelito Navajo Children’s Home, Mountain States Children’s Home, Shriners Children’s Hospital, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Because of his son-in-law’s military service, he also cared deeply for veterans and supported the Wounded Warrior Project. For those wishing to honor his memory, these were the charities closest to his heart.
