Erika Winning, age 63, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at her home in Colorado Springs after a valiant battle with cancer. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had also retired from the Cheyenne Mountain Conference Center as a Housekeeping Supervisor.
Erika was born on August 26, 1950 in Erlangen, Germany to the late Friederich and Creszenzia (Haushammer) Ebner. She attended schools in Germany, married and raised a family. She came to Colorado Springs in 1993.
She is survived by her twin daughters: Jasmin (husband, Donya) Green of Colorado Springs; and Melanie (husband, Juan) Ramirez of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She has five wonderful grandchildren:
Ciarra, D’Andre, David, Ja’Don and Antonio. Erika is also survived by a sister: Romana (husband, Joe) La Rouge and three brothers who live in Germany.
At her request, private family memorial services were held. Cremation is planned and her remains will be memorialized in Florida.
She will be best remembered for her unending love for her kids and grandkids. She will be deeply missed.
