Evelyn Joanne Hoxie, 80 of Peyton, died October 23, 2015.
She was born on July 7, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan to Wilfred and Mary Andrews. She married Lloyd Hoxie in August of 1958.
Evelyn moved to Colorado Springs in 1959 and moved to Peyton in 1972. She was involved in the Peyton Community Church, where she played the piano and taught Sunday school for many years. She worked for the Department of Defense and retired in 1992.
Evelyn is survived by two sons: Lloyd (Lisa) Hoxie II, of Peyton, and Linden (JoAnn) Hoxie of Colorado Springs; one sister, Lorraine (Tom) Blevins of Detroit, Michigan; five nieces and nephews; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and many loving friends.
Evelyn joins in heaven, her parents, her husband, two sisters: Thelma and Eileen, and her son, Leslie Hoxie.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Living Word Community Church, 532 Colorado Avenue, Calhan, CO 80808 with a luncheon reception to follow. Private inurnment will be at Roseland Park Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
