Geneva Brothers, age 88, passed away on November 10, 2019. She was a resident of Colorado Springs, CO for 60 years. She was a loving wife, mother, entrepreneur, and real estate investor.

Geneva was born November 7, 1931 to Clinton Ross Beamer and Ethel (Gallion) Beamer in Grinnell, KS. She was the youngest of four siblings. Her father called her “shorty” due to her 5 ft, 1 in stature. She was raised on a working wheat farm just outside of Oakley, KS and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1949. On June 11, 1950 she married Gordon Loyd Brothers in Oakley, KS and together they raised four children.

She is survived by her loving children: Gwen Fowler; Gary Brothers (Tami); Gene Brothers (Mohini Singh); and Gaye Belles (Mark); 12 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon and siblings; Boyd Beamer, Leah Walz, and Wilma Woodhouse.

Geneva found joy in traveling, beaches, sunsets, and views of Pikes Peak; which she shared with her husband, Gordon of 51 years.  She never missed a chance to feel the sand between her toes, stop and watch the sunset, or pass up a ride in a nice sports car. Her travel companions also included her children, and sister Wilma. She will be remembered for her bright smile that filled every room she was in. Family and church truly filled her life. She was a member of United Methodist Women for over 50 years.

A Celebration of Geneva’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 2111 Carlton Ave. Colorado Springs, CO. A reception will follow the Memorial Service at the church. She will be interned with Gordon at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO.
