George Mark Wylie, who is lovingly known as Mark, passed away on July 8, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the age of 56. Born on November 5, 1968, in Waco, Texas, Mark was raised in Austin, where he enjoyed a rich and joyful upbringing filled with family, community, and a lifelong love for Texas football.
Mark built a beautiful life in Colorado Springs, where he lived and worked for many years. He is survived by his devoted wife and partner, Jennifer Wylie, as well as his beloved family; son, Elijah; stepdaughters Taylor: Copple and Madison White, and Madison’s husband, Kyler White. He is also survived by his mother, Lynette Wylie; sister, Melissa Marberry, and her husband, Greg; nephew, Luke Marberry; and sister, Melinda Wylie. Mark leaves behind many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Mark is preceded in death by his father, George Wylie.
Professionally, Mark was a dedicated and valued employee of Microchip Technology in Colorado Springs, where he worked for 16 years. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he briefly returned to Austin with his wife and son to work for Samsung Semiconductor before ultimately returning back to Microchip and the Colorado Springs community he had grown to love.
Mark was known for his gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and quiet strength. He found joy in college football, especially cheering on his Texas Longhorns, and had a deep passion for the Houston Astros. He was a man who loved deeply and was deeply loved in return.
Mark’s legacy will live on through the memories he made, the values he carried, and the love he shared with those lucky enough to know him.
I didn’t know Mark personally, only through working with his Mother in law, Judith who always spoke so highly of him. Sending prayers and much love to his family as they navigate through the loss. Hoping you find time and strength to also rejoice that he is with our Lord and Savior who was waiting with open arms.
It is always hard to hear of the loss of someone who was loved and respected by so many. I may not have had the privilege in meeting Mark, but I felt as though I knew him. Judith, his Mother in Law, always spoke endearingly of him and how could one not get excited to hear of how he had positively impacted so many lives throughout his life. My deepest condolences go to his family and friends during this difficult time and praying for comfort.
He was always kind and thoughtful towards me, he will be missed!
I will miss our Texas chats! Watching him walk Joey & the happiness & love he shared for Jenn, Elijah, Taylor & Madison.
Mark was my best friend. I will miss him. I am thankful and blessed to have had him in my life and to grow up with him and the entire Wylie family.
Sending my love and prayers to you all at this difficult time. Mark was such a gentle and loving man, I hope you find comfort in knowing how much he loved you and that he is at peace now.
Mark and I were best friends for many many years…We carried a unique bond rejoiced with many laughs and events…we were inseperable… The Wylie family accepted me like I was one of their own with open arms…. We often discussed human nature and the world we live in on this planet…I know of no other a person I had in common with…His childlike chuckle with his slaps on the back is what I’ll remember the most…He strongly loved his family and it showed whenever all of them were together… From the outside looking in because I’ve never had a family , this family was special… From Mexican food to Margaritas , live football , and sci-fi movies to working at the same place as well as playing softball on the company team , we had a blast in everything we did together…His dry sense of humor to his life observations in the way he saw things were admirable and comedic all at the same time…I leave these words with the Wylie family in huge love and thank you’s for creating this wonderful human being for me to have known while he was here…And special thank you’s for letting me into your family’s lives…To know that he is up there with his father takes this hollow feeling that I have away replaced with sheer happiness…. For me Mark hasn’t passed away…he will always always live inside of me until it is my time to join him…Much love to the Wylie family….
