Chief Master Sergeant Glenn M. Hooper USAF Ret., 86, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away April 22, 2015.

Glenn was born September 16, 1927 in Kellogg, Idaho to Lawrence M. & Gladys O. (Byrd) Hooper. He married Florence Louise Sutter on August 7, 1948. He is survived by sons: George R. of France and Gary D. (Maria) of Chicago, Illinois; daughter: Mary L. Graser of Penrose, Colorado; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; his sister: Jane K. Gauthier of Idaho. Glenn is now in heaven with his parents; wife Florence Louise Hooper; 2 brothers: Gene and Larry Hooper; son: James E. Hooper and 2 great grandchildren.

After his military career Glenn was a senior field engineer with Ford Aero Space with assignments as a Regional Manager building heavy radar Air Defense facilities in Thailand, Iran and Saudi Arabia. He was owner and manager of one of the first commercial on line computer service companies in Colorado Springs. He was also partner, with his son Gary, of a Cable Construction Company.

Glenn was an avid outdoorsman that loved to fish, hunt and travel with his camera always at his side. He was a rated pilot and loved to travel in his Cessna 182.

Glenn was a Master Mason in El Paso Lodge #13, a Degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Denver Consistory, Past Master of Kadosh and Knight Commander Court of Honor. Glenn was also a member of the Colorado Pilots Association, Aircraft Owner and Pilots Association and the Peterson Air Force Base Aero Club.

A Visitation will be held Friday, May 1, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel with the entombment to follow at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven. A reception will be held following the services at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 S. Union Blvd.

Memorials in Glenn M. Hooper’s name may be made to the Colorado Department of Wildlife, or a charity of your choice.
