Gregory Edward Murphy “Nick”

Gregory Edward Murphy “Nick,” age 40, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1993 and formerly of Watertown, South Dakota, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 12, 2012 in Fremont County, Colorado. He was an ice cream truck driver.

Greg was born on September 10, 1971 in Germany to Gary and Linda (Bucholz) Murphy. He was a 1990 graduate of Leavenworth Senior High School in Leavenworth, Kansas. He was a driver for Frosty Freeze Ice Cream and a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism and the Squire to Sir Haroun and Dovita.

He had a wonderful sense of humor, a keen wit, and had a love of family. His life was filled with joy, especially when he was with his beloved nieces.

He is survived by his life partner, Samantha Mear; his parents: Gary and Linda Murphy; his sister: Jacqueline and her husband Mark Gracy; and his nieces: Keagan and Kylee Gracy, all of Colorado Springs.

Greg is also survived by his maternal grandmother: Darlene Bucholz of Watertown, South Dakota; and his best friend and cousin: Anthony Bucholz of Louisville, Kentucky.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. A reception will follow the services at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard.

Memorials may be made in his name to the family.

He will be dearly missed.
