February 4, 1931 – June 4, 2021

   Helen Lagos Moore passed away Friday, June 4, 2021.  She was a resident of Monument, Colorado, for the past few months while living with her daughter, and was formerly a longtime resident of Modesto, California,

   Helen was born on February 4, 1931 to Thomas Lagos and Theresa (Palmeri) Lagos in Modesto, California.  She worked as a telephone operator with Pacific Bell.

   During her long life she traveled the world, loved to indulge in fine dining, and was a lifelong learner.  She took numerous local college classes just for fun in subjects that piqued her interest, and she was a crossword puzzle aficionado.  Helen also took violin lessons starting at a young age and eventually became an accomplished first chair violinist for the Modesto Symphony Orchestra in her twenties.

   She is survived by her two daughters, Jacqueline Work (husband George), and Jeri Ewing (husband Kevin); eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a grandchild; her parents, Thomas and Theresa Lagos; a brother; and two sisters.

  She will be placed to rest in Bear Canon Cemetery in Sedalia, Colorado.
