Helen Marie Foster – October 9, 2025

Helen Marie Foster, 87, passed away on October 9, 2025. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 77 years.

Helen was born on June 7, 1938, in Belmont, Mississippi, to Henry Milton Oaks and Virginia Pearl (Parkhurst) Oaks. On April 3, 1959, she married Kenneth Paul Foster in Pueblo, Colorado, and together they had three children.

Helen attended Church of God (Anderson) and Roswell Community Church. She graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1956 and later earned her degree from Colorado State College. She also received her master’s degree from UCCS.

She taught elementary school children for over 35 years. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Ken in their 55-foot motorhome. After Ken’s passing, she purchased her own 24-foot trailer and continued to travel. Helen traveled with the Methodist Church RV group and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. She also gave her time to the Red Cross, Westside Cares, and Spring Village Nursing Home.

She enjoyed the Red Hat Society, crafting, Bible study, singing, fishing, time at the family cabin, and spending time with family and friends.

Helen is survived by her children, Randy Foster and Vicki Foster; her grandchildren: Amy, Carrie, Jacob, Sarah, and Mikey; and her siblings: Quay, Harold, and Robert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; her son, Eddie; and her parents, Milton and Pearl.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, at Roswell Community Church, located at 2728 Beacon Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907. Guests will be invited to share memories of Helen, and a reception will follow.

Helen was a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was loved and cherished by many and will be greatly missed.
