Helen Maxine Raney, 77, of Colorado Springs, passed away on September 26, 2012. “Maxine” was born on May 13, 1935 in Herald Prairie Township, Illinois.
After Maxine graduated high school, she raised her two children as a single mother and then moved to Colorado Springs where she subsequently worked as a nanny and household manager for the Jon Medved family for over twenty years..
In her spare time, Maxine enjoyed golf, Bible study and the performing arts which included several theatre productions.
Maxine is survived by her children, Rick (Haeng) Hodges and Debbie (Charles) Bradley; one brother, Steven Simms; one sister, Sandra Simpson; and grandchildren, Kailey, Krista, Andrew and Neil Bradley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Raney and her father, Millard Simms.
Memorial services will be held at 4:30 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation, 1 South Nevada Ave., Suite 205, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
