Howard James Kyle – June 20, 2025

Howard James Kyle, 85, of Colorado Springs, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on July 12, 1939, in Elkins, West Virginia, to Kenneth and Melba Kyle.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wilhelmine (Froschauer) Kyle; his son, Kevin Kyle; stepdaughters, Toni Vroman and Christine Azzone; grandchildren, Megan Lukowiak, Logan Kyle, and Ethan Kyle; brothers, Frank Kyle, Jeff Kyle, Allen Kyle, and Walter Kyle; and sisters, Patty Shepard, Sue Jones, Ardith Turner, and Millie Hendon.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth J. and Melba Isenhart Kyle; his brother, John “Butch” Kyle; his sisters, Emma Jean Kyle, Gladys White, and Kathryn Goodnow; and his stepson, Ronald Vroman.

Howard proudly served 29 years in the U.S. Army, including tours in Korea and Vietnam, and retired with the rank of Sergeant Major. Following his military career, he worked as a life insurance agent and later as a realtor.

He enjoyed stamp collecting, wood carving, and painting. In his free time, he was fond of watching westerns.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Howard’s name to the Patriot Guard Riders of Colorado.
