In Loving Memory of Isabella “Izzy” Marie Maestas
July 20, 2020 – May 19, 2025

With broken hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Isabella Marie Maestas, who left this world far too soon on May 19, 2025, at the tender age of four.

Born on July 20, 2020, Isabella, our sweet Izzy, brought light, laughter, and love to everyone who knew her. Her sparkling eyes, joyful giggles, and boundless curiosity filled our days with wonder. Whether she was playing, exploring, or simply snuggling with those she loved, Isabella reminds us of all the innocence and beauty in life.

Isabella is deeply loved and will be forever missed by her parents, Mikayla and Brent Maestas; her sisters, Sophia and Emma; her maternal grandparents, Brian and Brittnay Kohls of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Lisa and Bob Gumina of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and her paternal grandparents, Jon and Ellen Maestas of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also remembered with love by her maternal great-grandparents, Lori and Gene Mercer,  Sue Kohls, and Kenneth Clothier; her paternal great-grandparents, Jerry and Phyllis Hager, and Eugene Maestas; and by the memory of her maternal great-grandfather, Ron Kohls, who passed away in July 2011, and maternal great-grandmother, Carolyn Clothier, who passed away in March 2019, and her paternal great-grandmother, Karen Maestas, who passed away in January 2017.  Isabella leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who adored her.

Though her time with us was brief, Isabella’s spirit, joy, and love will live on in our hearts forever. Her memory will be cherished always, and her light will never fade.

A memorial service to honor Isabella’s life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at First Southern Baptist Church, located at 1409 Palmer Park Blvd, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909. All who knew and loved her are invited to attend and celebrate the joy she brought into our lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Isabella’s memory to the PCDH19 Alliance (pcdh19info.org) or Autism Speaks (autismspeaks.org).
