Jan Glenn Moorhouse, 69, of Colorado Springs passed away in Denver on May 25, 2014 from injuries sustained following a fall

Jan was born January 27, 1945 in Cleveland, OH where he resided until the family moved to Tucson, AZ in 1960 and the vistas he had admired in the Saturday Western Movies came alive. Jan worked for KYSN AM radio and the Colorado Springs Sun, then for His, Hers, and Ours FM radio station in San Diego. He attended San Diego City College until returning to Colorado Springs in 1974 where his primary focus was his family and raising his two sons. In the early 1980’s he founded Paladin Productions creating computer newsletters and graphics, and political commentary.

Jan is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Frances Moorhouse; sons: Paul Moorhouse of Baltimore MD, and Jason (Thenderlyn) Moorhouse; granddaughters: Alexa (Tanner) Plant and Mary I. Moorhouse; and great grandson, Quinton Plant all of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers Jeff (Fran) Moorhouse of Hemet, CA and Brian (Eileen) Moorhouse of Pittsburgh, PA; sisters: Mary C. Moorhouse of San Diego, CA and Martha Woodward of San Francisco, CA.

In death, Jan provided the gift of sight to two Colorado residents through donation of his corneas in hopes the recipients might see the beauty surrounding them.

Jan’s life will be celebrated and military honors will be rendered with a picnic in the park on Saturday, June 21, 11:30am at the Council Grounds at Palmer Park in Colorado Springs. Contributions in memory of Jan may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and/or the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
