Janice Rae Volk

Janice Rae Volk, 61, Colorado Springs, entered this life at the Logan County Hospital, Oakley, Kansas on August 23, 1951, the second child of James L. and Wilma Jean Baughn. She attended Monument Schools, Monument, Kansas. She attended her senior year and graduated from Oakley High School in May, 1969.

In 1968 she was baptized into the Christian faith, Monument Methodist Church.

In August, 1970, she married Larry Richardson and to this union was born two daughters: Kimberly Kay, and Wendi Lyn. On June 6, 1981 she was united in marriage to Martin Volk. In 1995, Janice and Martin relocated from Kansas to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they were living at the time of her passing.

Her work experience included Colby Supermarket and Wal-Mart beginning in Hays, Kansas and continuing till passing in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Janice and Martin attended Discovery Christian Church in Colorado Springs where they entered into Christian fellowship and Bible study with loving friends.

Janice passed from this life into the loving arms of her Savior on August 21, 2013. She leaves in passing her devoted husband, Martin Volk, of the home; daughters: Kimberly Wright (Steve), Scott City, Kansas and Wendi Richardson, Colorado Springs, Colorado; parents, James L. and Wilma Jean Baughn, Colby, Kansas; brother, Michael Baughn, Brewster, Kansas; sister, Karla Stupka (Chris), Concordia, Kansas; grandsons: Shayd Richardson, Layton, Luke and Kooper Wright; brother-in-law, Leon Volk (Mary); sisters-in-law: Lora Volk and Denise Volk; father-in-law, Alvin Volk; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends

Services in celebration of her life will be held at the Discovery Christian Church, Colorado Springs, Colorado on Monday, August 26 at 1:00pm and at the Berean Church, Colby, Kansas on Thursday, August 29 at 2:00pm.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation.
