Jason Robert Zegan

Jason was born in New York, New York on November 27, 1972.
He passed away in Colorado Springs, Colorado on June 01, 2017.

He attended Westfield High School in New Jersey. From there he went into the Marine Corps for several years, getting promoted to Sergeant and being rewarded numerous awards for being top recruiter. He also was a volunteer Sheriff’s Officer with the Kitsap County Sheriff Department during his time as a recruiter. He then moved on to join his uncle, Bob Murdock, in business sales of manufactured homes as well as a few other businesses he had.

He was known for his love of playing guitar, mostly rock, but loved music period. He was also known for his love of football, especially the New York Giants. Football was his favorite sport whether he was playing, watching, or coaching; he was happy. Jason also will forever be remembered by family and friends for his huge sense of humor, (the jokes never stopped) laughter, and smile.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Richardson-Zegan; their three children: Melissa Goodell (Steven Goodell), Brandie Swingle (Shaun Swingle), and Jason W. Zegan; their granddaughters, Kinslie Goodell and Haislie Swingle; his father, Alan Zegan; his mother, Mary Shero; his three siblings: Lisa Zegan, Joe Shero (Joseph and Isabella Shero), Jennie Zegan; as well as his grandmother, Barbara Murdock; uncle, Bob Murdock (Connie Murdock); cousins, Josh Murdock (Savannah, Trinity, and Trey), and Jessica Murdock (Jeron, Kaydence, Autumn, and Eli); plus several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Walter Murdock; his grandfather, Pete Zegan; and his grandmother, Helen Zegan.

A celebration of life is being held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
