Jeanne Fenton
Jeanne Fenton, age 87, a 57 year resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on September 14, 2013 at a local hospice. She was a homemaker, and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend.
Evelyn Jeanne Merck was born on November 5, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Frank and Susan Katherine (Morrison) Merck.
Jeanne was a member of Sunnyside Christian Church for 46 years where she was a member of the choir and played hand bells. She was a volunteer with the YMCA and taught exercise classes. Jeanne loved her family and enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her six children: Leon (Punky) Fenton; Carol (Barry) Karper; Gary (Ronda) Fenton; Gregg (Debbie) Fenton; Mark (LaDeane) Fenton; and Susan (Michael) Loucks. She has ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Fenton, on February 1, 1983; and her grandson, Ryan Fenton, on March 11, 2010.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Sunnyside Christian Church, 2025 North Murray Boulevard. Private entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels.
