In Loving Memory of Jesus Ramirez Duenas
Jesus “Chu” Ramirez Duenas, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother and uncle, passed peacefully at home and went to meet our Lord on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Chu was born on August 29, 1932, to the late Jesus Camacho Duenas and Juliana Torres Ramirez in Guam, and was the second oldest of four sons. During high school, he met Agueda “Agit” Perez Damian, who eventually became the love of his life. They were married on November 22, 1956.
Our Dad was a warm and welcoming person, opening his heart and home to others with genuine kindness. He was a devout Catholic with strong family values, and living his faith daily was a true reflection of his selflessness, generosity and endless patience. Our Dad proudly served in the United States Army for over two decades as a dedicated recruiter, administrative specialist and Vietnam veteran. Even after retirement, his deep sense of duty to his country continued as he worked in civil service. After full retirement however, his newest, permanent job was being Mom’s personal chauffeur to Cripple Creek! Throughout the years, Dad enjoyed going on volksmarches in Germany, bowling, playing poker, tres siete, and pinochle with family and friends, and volunteering with the Knights of Columbus. Spending quality time with his family was his first priority.
Chu is survived by his children: Rick (Eileen) Duenas, Christopher (Yolanda Davis) Duenas, Marie (Mike) Shandor, and Sylvia (Jake Warner) Duenas Ferrara; grandchildren: Amber (Marco) Guest, Zachary (Jeremy Lyall) Shandor, James Davis, Khrysten Duenas, Joe Ray Duenas, Brandon (Naomi) Duenas, Edward (Courtney) Ferrara Jr., Marley Luttrel, and Ely Ferrara; great grandchildren: Brennan (Tasha) Camacho, Joey Jr., Edward John “Trey” Ferrara III, Kahlea Ferrara, and Kamila Ferrara; great-great-grandchildren: Brynn Camacho and Bryson Camacho; siblings: Edward (late Lourdes Fe) Duenas and Vincent (Julie) Duenas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Agueda “Agit” Duenas; his children: Edward “Pappy” Duenas and Jeanette Duenas; and his brother Jose “Ping” (late Rosario “Ling”) Duenas.
On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, there will be a viewing and rosary from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. On Thursday, May 1, 2025, there will be a rosary at 10:15 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 N. Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80907, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, and a reception will be held at the Corpus Christi parish hall.

I will always remember him for his warm welcome and the kindness he showed myself and my family when we were stationed at Fort Carson. He was such an amazing older cousin and it was quite comforting knowing I had family especially being so far away from home.
