Joan Lillian (Phillips) Fournier
January 22, 1924 – March 27, 2012
Joan L. Fournier, age 88, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1980, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Pikes Peak Hospice residence. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Joan Lillian Phillips was born on January 22, 1924 in Montreal, Canada to the late Mary Phillips. She met and married Charles R. Fournier on November 9, 1944. Together they moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1945; Florida in 1965; and finally to Colorado Springs in 1980.
Joan’s love was her family and especially enjoyed being a grandmother.
Joan is survived by her three daughters: Robin (husband, Don) Scherer; Linda (husband, Leonard) Sprader; and Joanne Blancas; her grandchildren: Erica Reich, Alex Scherer, and Amy Weaver; and great-grandchildren: Jaya Reich, Robert Weaver, and AJ Weaver. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 2003.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
