Joanne Lee Hartmann
September 6, 1952 – January 13, 2013

Joanne Hartmann, 60, a retired math teacher, peacefully passed away at home on January 13, 2013.

She is survived by her husband, Steven, two daughters, Joni (Todd) Ables, and Lori (Jerome) Black, two grandsons, Brayden and Evan, sisters Bonnie, Janice, Paula and her brother Denny.

She was born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she enjoyed spending time with her family and participating in 4H. Joanne served 4 years in the military where she was well respected for her precision and excellence. She then took time off of her career to raise her daughters. Returning to work when her daughters where both in school, Joanne followed her passion and received her B.S. in Mathematics along with her Masters in Math Education. She was a dedicated math teacher at Fountain Fort Carson for 22 years where she inspired many students to love mathematics. In addition she was an adjunct professor at Pikes Peak Community College.

Joanne enjoyed playing Bridge and Canasta in her spare time with her husband and family. Her favorite place to be was at her sister’s bed-and-breakfast, playing cards, and reminiscing about growing up on the farm.

A service will be held at Ft. Logan on January 28, 2013 at 11 a.m.
