John W. Craven
December 23, 1930 – July 27, 2015
John W. Craven, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2015 at Memorial Hospital due to complications from surgery after a fall.
John was born in Asheville, North Carolina. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1950 until his retirement in 1974 as a Senior Master Sergeant E-8. After his retirement he worked for the Post Office for 16 years.
He married Anne O’Connor in 1957 while stationed in England. They had 2 children, Christina Marie and John Howard.
He was preceded in death by Anne, his first wife, and Demarce Woodard, his second wife. He is survived by his daughter, Christina Marie; son, John Howard; granddaughter, Elizabeth Williams; and great-granddaughters: Genevieve and Annalise Williams.
He loved to fish and golf. John affected those who knew him and will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Private inurnment will take place at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Columbarium of Faith.
