Jorge Avier Cruz – June 11, 2025

Jorge Avier Cruz, age 19, born on June 2, 2006, in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, passed away suddenly on June 11, 2025. He moved to Colorado in 2008 to be closer to family and spent his life surrounded by love and support.

Avier was a vibrant young man with a passion for football, industrial arts, and snowboarding. He cherished spending time with his friends and was known for his infectious enthusiasm and adventurous spirit. Avier graduated from Simla High School on May 23, 2025, and had plans to enlist in the United States Army, where he dreamed of studying engineering while serving his country.

He was the beloved son of Elizabeth and Jorge Cruz, and the cherished brother of Ander Alfredo Cruz and Magdalena Cruz. Avier shared a deep and special bond with his grandparents, who were a guiding light in his life. Family was central to Avier; he was surrounded by love not only from his immediate family but also from a large extended family on both his mother’s and father’s sides. He held close relationships with his cousins, aunts, and uncles, and often visited his extended family in Chihuahua, Mexico, where he created treasured memories.

Though Avier’s time on earth was far too short, the love he gave and the joy he shared will live on forever. He will be deeply missed by his parents, siblings, grandparents, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral services will be held in Colorado Springs, with details to be announced by the family.
