
Judy Larson, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for over 60 years and was formerly a resident of Riverside, Illinois. She was a homemaker.
Judy was born on March 9, 1938, to Frank and Harriett Flagg in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from Riverside Brookfield High School in 1956 and attended the University of Northern Colorado. While there, she met the love of her life, Mike Larson. On August 27, 1960, they were married in Riverside, Illinois.
She enjoyed being with her friends and family and doing outdoor activities including motor home trips, boating at Lake Powell, being at the beach in Mexico, and trips to Cripple Creek. She was also an avid softball player and bowler and enjoyed golfing. She loved her family of pets and gave support to many animal rescue and charitable organizations throughout her life. She was very involved in community and civic endeavors and enjoyed watching the Rockies, Broncos and Avs.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Mike; children, Perry Larson (Suzanne Smiegowski) and Wendy Browning; grandchildren, Blake and Taylor Larson; sister-in-law, Carolanne Flagg; and nephews, Mark (Veronica) and Craig Edmiston. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Joy Edmiston, and her brother, Norm Flagg.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at The Colorado Springs Country Club, 3333 Templeton Gap Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907. Inurnment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Columbarium, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
Donations in Judy’s name may be made to the Colorado Springs Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.
Judy was a beautiful free spirit. She thoroughly enjoyed life, her family, her faith, and her incredible group of friends. She made the most of every minute.
