Julia Kaine began her final adventure October 18, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Julia, age 93, lived in Colorado Springs for the last nine years after moving from Danville, Illinois. Some of her favorite pastimes were Word Find books, solitaire on the Nook, Sunday family dinners, summer BBQ’s and of course her Perfect Margarita. Her next adventure will take her to a wonderful place where she will be all dressed up in her BLING, dancing and reuniting with loved ones. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed.
Julia, also known as “Nana,” loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to teach her family important life lessons such as, “only two fingers of tea at Sunday dinner,” and, “iron your pillow cases because it just makes the bed.” She is now at peace.
Julia is survived by her daughters: Carole Kaine Elkin and Debra Kaine Damien (Anthony); six grandchildren: Jody Mackey, Sarah Scalise, Derek Damien, Patrick Kaine, Stephanie Kingery and Megan Kaine. Nana was especially proud of her ten great-grandchildren: Madeline, Anthony, Emma, Hannah, Heaven, Brooklyn, Daxton, Lily, Emily, and Kylie and discussed their adventures as if they were her own.
A purple balloon launch will commemorate her passing. Our “Girlfriend” will be missed by everyone she touched.
