Justin Peck, 7, died peacefully at his home in Colorado Springs on Saturday, 28 January, after a long battle with Late Infantile Batten Disease. Justin will be remembered for his infectious smile, his zest for living, and his refusal to let his experiences be limited by his condition. He was fascinated with all types of vehicles, and “Cars” was his favorite movie. He loved the characters and the rides at Disneyland, as well as listening to books or to his favorite TV shows. Justin spent many special hours at the arena riding his horse Cutter, to the delight of his friends and family.
Justin is survived by his mom and dad Cheri Whobrey and Corey Peck, his brother Zane, his Honi, his sister-in-law, and several cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. He also leaves behind numerous people in Colorado whose lives he touched.
Memorial services have yet to be scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations in honor of Justin to be directed to the Batten Disease Support and Research Association, www.BDSRA.org or the Colorado Springs Therapeutic Riding Center, www.CSTRC.org.
