Karl HG Smith
Karl HG Smith, age 47, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1999, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at a local hospital.
Karl was born on March 19, 1966 in Germany to Charles and Tula Smith and grew up in Pennsylvania. He married Lea Ann Christensen on March 4, 2005. He was a member of the United States Army Reserves and worked as a software engineer. Karl loved to travel with his family, was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed scuba diving and hiking, and was a proud Eagle Scout.
Karl is survived by his loving wife, Lea Ann; his son, Joshua; his parents, Charles and Tula; his brother, Matthew (wife, Lisa) Smith; his nephew, Corbett Smith; and nieces, Hailey and Emma Smith.
Private services and private inurnment are planned.
A memorial fund has been created in Karl’s name for the education of his son, Joshua. Memorials can be made in care of Chase Bank in the name of Lea Ann or Joshua Smith.
