It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of our beloved Kayla Rhianne Dobson Harrington. Kayla was born on August 16, 2000 in Colorado Springs, CO to Morning Star Coyhis and Chad Dobson. From the moment she was born, Kayla brought so much love and joy into the world. Kayla was extremely funny, compassionate, smart, strong, independent, thoughtful, and stubborn! She loved her family with a fierce heart. Kayla had an incredible ability to look past the exterior of a person and see them for who they were on the inside! Her young life was just getting started, but on January 26, 2019, Kayla unexpectedly lost her life to a terrifying illness.
At 18 years old, Kayla leaves behind her beautiful daughter, Mila. She is also survived by her mother, Morning Star; her father, Chad; her husband, Keith; her grandparents, Cheryl and Craig, Don and wife Jeanne, and Joan and husband Byron; her great-grandmother, Darlene; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many more friends and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Curtis, great aunt, Laura, and her aunt, Amy.
Despite the shock and devastation we all feel right now, we take comfort in knowing that Kayla is watching over us, and she will live on in our hearts forever! She left behind the gift of fond memories that will make us smile and continue to bring us joy! She taught us the true meaning behind unconditional love.
Services will be held at Rocky Mountain Calvary Church on February 3, 2019 at 2 pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Kayla’s honor to Springs Recovery Connection, 1930 W. Colorado Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80904, www.springsrecoveryconnection.org.
