Kevin Lindley Smith – July 14, 2025

Kevin Lindley Smith, 44, passed away on July 14, 2025.

Kevin proudly enlisted in the United States Army in July 1999 and served with honor and distinction for 15 years.  He retired in 2014 as an Infantry Squad Leader, having been deployed to Kosovo, Iraq (twice), and Afghanistan.

Kevin’s love of biking began at an early age and grew into a lifelong passion.  In his earlier years, he was a sponsored professional freeride mountain biker. In 2022, he became an athlete with the High Fives Foundation, continuing to inspire others through resilience, courage, and grit.

He also had a deep passion for riding his Harley. It was more than a hobby—it was one of the few places where he found complete freedom and independence.  The open road became his sanctuary, where the noise of his physical pain faded and he could simply ride.  His Harley symbolized resilience, adventure, and the unshakable spirit that carried him through life.

Kevin remained deeply connected to the veteran community. He was an active volunteer of the VA Amputee Coalition and regularly participated in MACS Pickleball games with fellow veterans—finding healing, friendship, and purpose through shared experiences and support.

Kevin was a man of discipline, drive, and deep loyalty. He loved the thrill of biking, the roar of his Harley, and the sense of order that gave him peace. His perseverance, quiet strength, and fierce love for his family were the hallmarks of his character.

He is survived by his wife, Christina; his daughters, Madison and Emma; his parents, Judd and Janice; and his siblings, Cody and Kerry. Kevin’s legacy of courage, love and resilience will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kevin’s honor to American Core Nonprofit at americancore.org or to local Military Adaptive Court Sports Pickleball program (Venmo program Coordinator, @MickTing or contact 703-489-1670).

A visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910.  Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
