Laxminarayana Kadiyali Kamath, KL to his friends, a resident of Colorado Springs since May 2015, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020. He was formerly a resident of Bangalore, India and before retiring to Bangalore, he had a long and illustrious career with Syndicate Bank.
He was born in India on August 17, 1938 to Sheshagiri Kamath and Kalyani Nayak. He married Mangalore Sulochana Rao on November 3, 1968 in India. Per Konkani tradition, he named her Shantha on the wedding day.
KL was an avid stock trader and investor. He also loved history, enjoyed the classics, and spirituality. He loved good food.
He is survived by his wife, Shantha Kamath; two daughters, Rajalakshmi Kamath, and Rajashree Kamath (Sandeep Shanbhag); a son, Rajshekar Kamath (Smita Kini); a sister, Jayalakshmi Hebbar; and 2 grandchildren, Adarsh Shanbhag, and Lily Kamath. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, and a sister.
Memorials in KL’s name may be made to American Red Cross.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. Inurnment will be private.
